IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility is a crucial criterion that candidates must satisfy to apply for the IBPS PO Recruitment 2024. The eligibility criteria cover several aspects, including nationality, age, and educational qualifications:

1. Nationality:
– Candidates must be citizens of India.
– Citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible.
– Individuals of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India are eligible as well.

2. Age Limit:
– Candidates must be at least 20 years old and not older than 30 years as of 1st August 2024.
– Age relaxation is applicable for certain categories:
– SC/ST: 5 years
– OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
– PWD: 10 years
– Ex-Servicemen: 5 years

3. Educational Qualifications:
– Candidates must hold a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
– The degree should be recognized by the Central Government of India.
– Candidates must possess valid mark sheets or degrees indicating that they are graduates on the day they register for the exam.

– Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 45 questions, 60 marks

– Data Analysis & Interpretation: 35 questions, 60 marks
– The objective test is for 3 hours.
– Descriptive Test:
– The Descriptive Test consists of 2 questions related to Letter Writing and Essay, carrying 25 marks. The duration for this test is 30 minutes.
– Negative marking is applicable in the Objective Test, with a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

3. Interview:
– Candidates who qualify for the Main Examination are shortlisted for the interview process.
– The interview carries 100 marks.
– The minimum qualifying marks in the interview are 40% for General candidates and 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates.
– The final merit list is prepared based on the combined scores of the Main Examination (80% weightage) and the Interview (20% weightage).

 

IBPS PO Selection Process
