What is Operations Management?

Operation management in simple terms means the effective and proper use of all the resources of an organization in an order to get maximum output for higher profitability. It mainly deals with managing people, tools & equipment, information, and other needful resources that are involved right from the manufacturing of goods and services until it is delivered to the consumer. Operations are the core of every organization irrespective of how large or small the organization is.

Numerous operating decisions are made by the organization to get better day by day regardless of whether it is related to the manufacturing process or distribution of the product. These operating decisions have long term and short impact on the organization hence these decisions are deeply analyzed before implementing. However, all this comes under the operation functions of a company.
