What is XAT?
- Xavier Aptitude Test or commonly known as XAT is a national-level management entrance test conducted by XLRI, Jamshedpur
- XLRI conducts XAT on behalf of XAMI
- For more than 60 years XLRI is conducting XAT at all India level
- The XAT score is being used by more than 150 institutes for the admission
- XAT is an online (computer-based) Exam
- Registration Fees is Rs. 2000/-

XAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria
- There are no age criteria for XAT.
- The candidates must have completed their bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
- The duration of the degree should be a minimum of 3 Years.
- The students in their final year of degree can also apply.

XAT 2023 Duration of Exam
The Exam is of 180 minutes and is further divided into 2 major parts.
Part 1 – 75 Questions
One part consists of 75 questions to be completed in 165 minutes with no sectional time limit and covers all topics except GK.
Verbal Ability and Logical Ability – 26 Questions
- About 4 RC passages, 13 to 16 RC based questions
- 8 to 10 questions on Verbal Ability
Decision Making – 21 Questions
- About 6 sets on Decision Making
Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation – 28 Questions
Part 2
The other part consists of 25 questions to be completed in 15 minutes which includes questions related to GK only.
Total no. of questions: 100 with 180 minutes in hand
XAT 2023 Marking Scheme
- +1 marks for a correct answer
- – 0.25 mark for an incorrect answer.
- 5 marks will be deducted for more than 8 unattempted questions.
- No negative marking in the GK section
