MBA CAP ROUND STRATEGY
This article will help you out with the list of colleges to be used in CAP Rounds. The College Option form for CAP Round 1, 2 and 3 is nothing but a list of Colleges that you choose for CAP Rounds.
MBA/MMS Admission Process Timeline
Stage 1 – Online registration for Admission Process and Document Verification
Stage 2 – Merit List is displayed by CET Cell. You will receive merit number i.e. ranking amongst all the registered candidates
Stage 3 – The Seat Matrix is declared by CET Cell. This gives an idea about the seat distribution across all MBA/MMS colleges
Stage 4 – Fill the College Option Form for CAP Round 1, then the seats are allotted followed with admission. Similar process is repeated for CAP Round 2 and 3.
Note: There are generally 3 CAP Rounds in MBA MMS Admission Process. I request all the students to make wise decisions with the college option form.

I am going to share 3 Strategies.
- Strategy 1 – If you want admission in MBA Colleges of Mumbai
- Strategy 2 – If you want admission in MBA Colleges of Pune
- Strategy 3 – If you want admission in MBA Colleges as per overall ranking
No matter what your percentile is, you can definitely have a college in option form that you will never get on your current percentile.
For example, a student having 90%ile will not get JBIMS in CAP Rounds but still, he/she can include this institute in College Option Form.
Strategy 1 – If you want admission in MBA Colleges of Mumbai
- JBIMS
- Sydenham MMS
- Welingkar
- SIES
- Xavier
- Chetana
- MET
- Lala’s
- Rizvi
- Thakur
- Alkesh Dinesh Mody
- Vivekanand
- Durgadevi Saraf
- Raheja
- FC. Rodrigues
- Francis
- Aditya Institute
- Atharva
Strategy 2 – If you want admission in MBA Colleges of Pune
- PUMBA

- Sinhgad Business School (SBS)
Strategy 3 – If you want admission in MBA Colleges as per ranking
- JBIMS
- Sydenham MMS
- Welingkar
- PUMBA
- SIES
- (PUMBA vs SIES – PUMBA has ROI advantage, SIES has Mumbai location advantage)
- Xavier
- Chetana
- MET
- Lala’s/Indira Institute of Management(IIMP) – Decide as per location advantage
- Rizvi

- Alkesh Dinesh Mody
- Vivekanand
- Durgadevi Saraf/ ICEM Pune

If you are going add colleges after Alkesh Dinesh Mody, then think of parameters like location advantage, fees and ROI then finalize the list. After Rizvi, all the colleges will have an average salary below Rs. 4 LPA and it will decrease as college ranking goes down.
